Commenting and Replying on Shared Documents

A comment is a note that you can anchor against a piece of text on a document. 

Comments added to a document will not change the actual content but will be displayed on the right-hand side of the All comments tab.

Comment Notifications

Everyone who has been shared the document except the author will be notified when a comment is added to a document.

You and anyone else who has been shared the document will receive an email notification once you close out of the document. All activities made during that session will be combined and sent as a single email notification.

Who Can See and Add Comments?

The following people can see comments added to a document:

  • You

  • Your lawyer; and

  • Anyone who has been shared the file

Only users signed in to LawConnect can add/edit or reply to comments. When previewing a document from a public link, the Sign In button will be in the top right corner.

Comment Order

Comments are ordered from oldest to newest. Replying to a comment does not change its order.

To access LawConnect, visit:

and sign in using your LawConnect credentials.

Add a Comment

 
  1. Open the document in LawConnect.

  2. Highlight the text or item you want to comment on.

  3. Click  when it appears.

  4. Type your comment in the box and click Post when you're finished.

View a Comment

 

To view the queue of comments added, click the Comments tab on the right-hand side.

Edit a Comment

 
  1. In the All comments tab, locate your comment and click > Edit.

  2. When you are done, click Post to update the comment.

Reply to a Comment

 
  1. In the Comments tab, click Reply on a comment.

  2. In the text box that opens below, type your comment and click Reply.

Delete a Comment

 

In the Comments tab, locate the comment you wish to delete and click > Delete.

An email notification will be sent to all parties that has access to the shared document advising the deletion of the comment. Deleted comments cannot be viewed or retrieved.

  1. Select and open a document from your case/matter.

  2. Highlight the text or item you want to comment on.

  3. Tap when it appears.

  4. Type your comment in the box and tap on Post when you're finished.

View a Comment

 
  1. Tap .

  2. Tap the Comments tab.

    A queue of comments will be displayed.

Edit a Comment

 
  1. In the Comments tab, locate your comment and tap > Edit.

  2. When you are done, tap Post to update the comment.

Reply to a Comment

 
  1. In the Comments tab, tap Reply on a comment.

  2. In the textbox that opens, type your reply and tap Post.

Delete a Comment
