Using LawConnect

This article is designed to assist you to understand and how to use LawConnect to better collaborate with your lawyer.

To access LawConnect, visit:

and sign in using your LawConnect credentials.

Your Cases/Matters

 

If you have multiple cases/matters with your lawyer, LawConnect will provide you access to these when they are shared by your lawyer.

  1. On the left-hand side of the page, click Switch case/matter.

    A window will appear and display a list of the cases/matters, number of shared documents and any new updates.

  2. Select or search for the case/matter you want to open.

    If more cases/matters are shared with you, they will appear in the list.

Activity Feed/File List

 

When documents are shared with you, they will be presented to you on the Activity feed (default view).

You are able to toggle between Activity feed and File list view by selecting the (Activity feed) or (File list).

  • Activity feed view will list every item that has been shared chronologically. You will be able to Pay invoices and Sign documents which will be pinned to the top.

  • You can also display all shared items using the File list view .

To assist in finding the documents you desire, you may use the Search documents field or filter options at the top:

  • All
  • Shared by firm
  • Uploaded by you 

Under the Activity feed view, you may click to filter your documents by:

  • eSignatures
  • Files & folders
  • Invoices & trust/client funds

Under the File list view, you may also click to further filter and sort your documents:

Filter

  • eSignatures
  • Files & folders

Sort

  • Date (ascending/descending)
  • Name (ascending/descending)

View

  • List
  • Table

Click the Clear button to reset the filters.

The selection of filters on your Activity feed & File list view will be adjusted depending on the type of documents that have been shared with you.

Using LawConnect Preview

 

Click on a document to preview from either the Activity Feed or File List view.

The right side of the document will have two tabs:

  • All comments: This will show all comments and replies made to a document.
  • Details: This tab will show the details of the document, including file type, size, shared date, creation date, and document version with timestamps and number of comments.

You are able to toggle to hide/show the Details pane by selecting the (hide) or (show).

To download the document, click and select Download.

To exit the document preview, click X.

Settings

 

On the bottom left-hand side of the page, click your name and select Settings.

From here, you are able to view your account details including your name and e-mail address used to sign into LawConnect including some Security details of when your LawConnect account was created and Last login.

You can update your Display name by clicking the  icon to the right of your name. You can enter either a First name, Last name, or both to use as your preferred name then click Update.

You are able to Sign Out, Update password to change your LawConnect account's password or Close account to permanently delete your LawConnect account and signs out of LawConnect on across all devices.

Changing Your Display Name

 

On the bottom left-hand side of the page, click your name > Settings > .

The display name will show on the left pane at the bottom of the main page, the settings page and initials in File list view.

Closing Your LawConnect Account

 
  1. On the bottom left-hand side of the page, click your name and and select Settings.

  2. From here, select Close account.

  3. Close account window will appear. To finalise, enter your Password and click Confirm.

Sign Out of LawConnect

 

On the bottom left-hand side of the page, click your name and select Sign out.

Your Cases/Matters

  • You can also display all shared items using the File List view.

To assist in finding the documents you desire, tap Search, enter the search keyword or tap the filter options at the top:

  • All
  • By firm
  • By you

Tap to further filter or sort your documents:

Filter

  • eSignatures
  • Files
  • Folders
  • Invoices & Trust/Client Funds

Sort

  • Shared date (ascending/descending)
  • Uploaded date (ascending/descending)
